Look for news of the next film, which will be shown on Thursday 20 October 2011, in The Prattler, local newspapers and posters around the local villages
Heyford Picturedrome opened its doors for the first time on Thursday 20th January 2011, in Nether Heyford Village Hall. The idea for starting a film night in the village hall emerged from a survey conducted by the Village Hall Committee and was taken up by a small group of people also keen to see another community focused event in the village, and one which maybe would serve people who would otherwise not be able to attend film screenings.
On the third Thursday of each month starting again from Thursday 20th October, there will be a film screening at 8.00pm. Prior to the screening, tea and coffee is served (included in the ticket price) from 7.30pm, and then at the end of the performance there will be an opportunity to discuss the film and enjoy refreshment.
On a regular basis the audience are asked to choose their favourite film or film genre so that future screenings will reflect their choice as far as possible.
Since the first event in January 2011, the film nights have been very successful, attracting audiences of about 60 and we expect to continue this success into the future. The intention is that this is not just a film night but also an opportunity for a social evening.
Film nights are advertised on posters distributed in Nether Heyford, Bugbrooke and Weedon and in The Prattler magazine.
